Ajimobi Solicits Supports of Traditional Rulers For Local Govt Elections

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has appealled to royal fathers in the State to support his Government towards sustaining peace during the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.

Governor Ajimobi stated this during the first interactive session with royal fathers in the State at the State House of Chiefs, Secretariat Agodi, Ibadan.

He explained that the support of the royal fathers are being sought because they remain closest to the people at the grassroot level, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains the priority of the present administration.

The Governor who emphasized the importance of peace and security in the State noted that the present administration will continue to take steps to ensure the protection of lives and property of citizens in the State.

He used the opportunity of the interactive session to highlight some of the achievements of his administration in the last seven years.

In his response, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi the third gave kudos to Governor Ajimobi for executing laudable programmes since the inception of his administration without putting the State on a high profile debt.
